Bringer of Justice

Running swiftly, paws upon the sand,
A glint in her eye as she darts.
The blaze in her heart and the wind at her back,
leaving bodies of snakes torn apart.

Secrets of the rosettes on the leopard keeping pace.
Spots upon the cheetah with the dots upon her face.
Swift and wily mongoose upon the desert sands she roams.
Leaping like the caracal with fire in her bones.

Blood on her claws as they sink in,
To those who would do harm unjust,
The teeth that she bares are laden,
With the evil that she has just fought.

Her prize is then ripped from their bodies,
A heart filled with isfet so dark,
To lay it down by the king she protects,
The blood on the sand leaves a mark.

She leaps upon the neck of the uncreated one.
She takes her gleaming blades reflecting in the sun.
She slices through its throat, bringing evil to an end.
She stalks away with pride to the kingdom she defends.

Mafdet, be swift in your justice!
Your claws are not ones we shall fear,
For we know that you will protect us
From those who would bear us ill-will.

It’s meant to have those bits of fast-paced chanting to match the speed of the Swift Runner Herself.  It also has a bit of heka woven into it.  Enjoy!

Mother’s Lullaby

Close your eyes, little kitten of mine.

Close your eyes and let the dreams come.

You are tired, and your eyelids are heavy.

You’ve had a long day and so you must rest.

I will protect you. I am your Mother.

I will give you all the strength you need.

The nightmares won’t come,

and the dreams will bring you peace,

as you lay your head to sleep.

Your Soldier

Upon your throne, oh glorious Queen,
It is you before I kneel.
I know you through compassion,
and the flame within I feel.

I walk upon the sands for you,
the heat beneath my feet.
And burning, walk those miles for you,
your strength makes me complete.

Bast-Mut, Queen of Heaven!
Bast-Mut, Queen of Light!
I now see why you have called me,
Your soldier to your side.

Raise your paw, Oh Radiant queen,
And smite the dark within.
I let you lead me to the light,
With a new day to begin.

I step into the shadows,
only guided by your love.
Not fearing as I tread the night,
you’re my guidance from above.

Bast-Mut, Queen of Heaven!
Bast-Mut, Queen of Light!
I now see why you have called me,
Your soldier to your side.

Your joy is pure euphoria!
Yet as Queen you speak commands,
of your children to not eat our hearts,
and live our life in ma’at!

You are the spark of my very soul,
And the passion that burns within.
I sing your song Oh brilliant Queen!
Notes like incense in the wind.

Bast-Mut, Queen of Heaven!
Bast-Mut, Queen of Light!
I now see why you have called me,
Your soldier to your side.

Bast-Mut, Queen of Heaven!
Bast-Mut, Queen of Light!
I now see why you have called me,
Your soldier to your side.

Song of Strength

Bast-Mut, Queen, enthroned and wise,
bring the light so clear.
Take my hand and lead me there,
to a place I hold so dear.

Give me strength~
Give me strength~
Give me courage to defeat the dark within.

Mother, wrap me in your arms,
shield me from my fears.
Hold me against your body warm,
and wipe away my tears.

Give me strength~
Give me strength~
Give me courage to defeat the dark within.

Your light shines gold against the sand,
the brightness brings us peace.
You blast away the shadows,
now the dark within shall cease.

Give me strength~
Give me strength~
You gave me light to fight the dark within.

Give me strength~
Give me strength~
You gave me light to fight the dark within.
